As well as former pupils, present and former members of the school's Staff and Governing Body and Clerks to the Governors are eligible for membership.
Throughout its existence the Club has remained remarkably faithful to its original objectives and even to the means by which they can be promoted.
Those objectives are to promote the good fellowship of all Old Savilians, to strengthen the links between past and present, and to promote the interests of the School and its alumni.
From the outset dinners and sporting events have been seen as a vital means of pursuing the Club's objectives. The first annual dinner was held in the School Hall (now the school's reception hall) on January 11th, 1899.
The latest will be held in Queen Elizabeth Hall on December 17th 2010. The programme of dinners now extends to include regional, university dinners and international dinners. In sport, the original programme, which called for an 'Annual Old Savilian Cricket and Football Match' has been steadily extended.
Above all, the Club exists to strengthen the bonds between all those who have shared the experience of belonging to QEGS, a school proud of its reputation for friendliness and community as well as tradition and success.
